Simone then settled in Cairns where she established her private practice, which expanded to 3 locations across the city. She spent 6 years working within her private practice and consulting across the region. Simone then relocated with her family to the Gold Coast, travelling to Brisbane where she worked closely with the Queensland Police Service and other government departments over a 2 year period. She eventually returned home to Perth in 2015, where she has been operating a private practice amongst other professional pursuits, ever since.
Simone utilises many different modalities in her therapy including schema therapy, CBT, narrative therapy, relationship based therapy, interpersonal therapy, family systems therapy and ACT. She adapts her style to suit the presenting needs of each client.
Simone possesses a love of learning and invests heavily in professional development, to keep herself up to date with the latest research and techniques to support her clients, particularly in the areas that she specialises in. She has also attended training with Laura Richards, a US based and former Scotland Yard Criminal Behavioural Analyst on coercive control and stalking.
Simone has a passion for supporting clients who have experienced trauma, FDV or a coercively controlling partner. Oftentimes, these individuals will find themselves in the Family Law Court and Simone specialises in supporting protective parents and their tweens/teenagers as a treating practitioner. Simone has experience in both the Family Law Court of Western Australia and the Family Law Court of Australia, in Queensland. She brings her expertise to her work as an emerging Single Expert Witness, specialising in complex cases when FDV, coercive control or sexual abuse of children has been alleged.
When Simone isn’t working, you will find her doing yoga, running, at the gym or at the beach with her daughter and German Shepherd.
